What to expect.
For the winter months, our Far Meadow cabins, except Old Yosemite Cabin which is accessible by car all year , can only be reached with our guide by snowmobile, snow-cat or pickup with truck tracks. We open for winter around Dec. 19 until April or May, depending on road conditions. If you want to experience this unique location during those months our guide will bring you in and out. You also will have a snowmobile ((Polaris Trail Touring DLX) on site during your stay to use . For Emergency Use Only, we also provide a satellite phone .
It is about an 8 mile ride to get up to the cabins. Depending on the snow level it can be more or less. We require that you meet our guide no later than 11 a.m. the day of your arrival in order to get you out there.
If you can’t make it at that time we recommend that you stay at our ‘Basecamp’ on Old Yosemite Road in Oakhurst the night before and meet our guide there. You will be able to bring limited luggage, supplies, pets with you.
While at the cabin you will have power supply (solar), a backup generator, internet access and water. Water supply can vary and we cannot guarantee running water if weather conditions are too harsh.
